PennFishing_2017 there's nothing better than spooling up new gear. The 50TW's on the right have proven themselves landing big fish in the Northeast. However, there's always room for improvement. Upgrading the gear to new Penn 50VSW's. Stay tuned for more pics of the new set of gear!! #saltaddictreport Tyler O'ToolePennFishing_2017 there's nothing better than spooling up new gear. Had a fantastic day out on the water today. Perfect conditions and then bite was on fire!!!
Started the morning in shallow water for the Totaug and boy were they chewing!!! Largest of today was 6.5lbs and have multiple other on the 4lb range. Also boated a bunch of porgies which are always fun on light tackle.
From there we moved out deep into 100ft and loaded up on some beautiful Black Sea Bass to 5lbs until the current started moving fast and we couldn't hold bottom even with 12oz of lead.
From the were ended the day in the harbor chasing Bluefish and Stripers on light tackle. Talk about a blast!!!! We caught them on all different types of lures with the biggest bluefish just being under 10lbs.
All in all we did very well and caught all different species.
We were able to sneak in a quick 4 hour trip before the weather turned on us, but it turned out to be an awesome trip with some of my regulars. Landed several large bluefish to 16lbs, beautiful large Black Sea Bass out in 100ft of water and a bunch of scup. Headed out again this Saturday in hopes to put a hurting on Blackfish. The water temp is down and the bigger fish are starting to move in. Stay tuned!!
Had a great trip out yesterday. Hammered on the bluefish for hours out in 60ft with the biggest just over 13lbs. Blackfishing was surprising slow. We were catching very well the day before. But that's fishing right... Have another charter tomorrow morning. Stay tuned!!
What an awesome day! Ran 2 charters today with an excellent group you anglers of all ages! Boated over 150+ Porgies, with a mixed bag of Black Sea Bass, and Bluefish. The top water bite is excellent as well. Tons of Silversides getting smashed by Bluefish and Albies!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and don't forget to book a fishing trip with us!! #saltaddictreport -Capt. TyPhotos from Salt Addict Charters's post ... See moreSee less

Joe Diorio Catches A Redfish… In Connecticut! – Why Knot Fishing Blog
On Tuesday morning, July 5, 2016, Joe Diorio woke up with a headache and generally not feeling very good, so decided to stay home and rest up. After a couple long naps, he woke up and felt a little better, but decided he needed a little fishing therapy to help himself feel 100% better.
****Epic trip last night! The big girls are in!! ****** ___ Left the dock at 7pm in search of the elusive bunker. After an hour of endless casts, we managed to get 12 baits on board and we were off to the fishing grounds. We were anchored up at our first spot by 7:30 and battled a wicked wind verse tide, 2-3ft chop and lines going every which way (major headache). After several moves and a number of large dogfish, it was now approaching 11:30pm, moral was low and we decided to move to one last spot out deeper in about 40ft of water, before called it a night. We sat and waited, joking around Artie Dugas said "I guess it's time to put on my lucky fishing hat". haha No more than 15 minutes went by and his reel started SCREAMINGGGG!!!! He put his reel in gear and sets the hook!!! The fish takes off like freight train with the current which was ripping a good 4knots, peeling off a good 75 yards of before he was able to turn her head and start gaining some line back. After a 20 minute fight we finally boated this big girl.!! Talk about a fight!!
We ended up 6/8 last night and 3 dogfish caught by the Dogfish Slayer himself Jay Hayes LOLOL.. Great trip last night boys!!!
Unfortunately the weather does not look like it is going to cooperate the next for days. So until next time... Stay tuned!! and don't forget to book your charter with Salt Addict Charters!!!
